The GelDoc-It systems are designed for dedicated fluorescence and colorimetric imaging.

Three types of 115V, 8W single intensity UV transilluminators are available, each with a built-in ethidium bromide emission filter. The FirstLight* FI-26X model offers a 302nm wavelength and a 25x26cm (9⁷/₈x10¹/₄") filter. The LM-26 model offers 302 and 365nm wavelengths, and a 21x26cm (8¹/₄x10¹/₄") filter. The LMS-26 model offers 254, 302, and 365 wavelengths, and a 21x26cm (8¹/₄x10¹/₄") filter.

The high resolution camera comes with 8-48mm manual or motorized zoom lens and a 1.3cm (¹/₂") interline transfer monochrome CCD. The camera is noncooled and offers 1.4 megapixels, 16 bit depth, 1360x1024 resolution, and 43% peak quantum efficiency. The camera fits securely into the topside chamber of the darkroom.

The lightweight, compact, light-tight darkroom enclosure mounts onto the transilluminator, which is accessed via a sliding tray at the darkroom base. The darkroom features an overhead white LED light with high/low settings, a UV safety switch, a full access door with a UV-blocking viewing window, and power indication lights on the top exterior. Darkroom dimensions: 46.3Hx35.6Wx28Dcm (18¹/₄x14x11").

The VisionWorks* LS image acquisition and analysis software provides tools for image capture and analysis of chemiluminescent samples, including Western blots. Specific capabilities include image enhancement, one-touch automated macros, extensive report generation, data export, advanced analysis including area density, and support for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

System 21453-364 is stand-alone with a built-in computer touch screen in addition to all other components of GelDoc-It systems. The computer component allows the researcher to see live previews of gels, plates, and colonies, and capture, save through USB port, or print images.
