Base molds are specially designed for use with VWR Signature™ tissue processing/embedding cassettes (see 18000-004 series) and VWR biopsy processing/embedding cassettes (see 18000-032 series), but may be used with any standard size cassette. Molds feature higher sides to allow optimum paraffin volume during embedding, and dramatically reduce excess paraffin on the sides of embedded cassette blocks.

Reusable stainless steel molds have wings to ensure level embedding. Polished surface allows easy block removal and cleaning.

Disposable base molds are constructed of rigid plastic and designed for zero flash. Molded for a tight fit around the cassette, they prevent excess paraffin from adhering to the sides of the cassette. Positive lock ensures consistent and level embedding. Breakaway latch allows for easy block removal. Crisp sides of the mold aid in sectioning and section ribboning.
