Containers are filled with chemical preservative to maintain sample integrity until analysis can be performed. Hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid are for oil & grease and total petroleum hydrocarbons analyses. Nitric acid (HNO3) is for determining metals and hardness. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is for analyzing cyanide as a water sample. Sodium hydroxide and zinc acetate (Zn(O2CCH3)2) together is for sulfide analytes in water matrices.
HDPE containers are for water samples. Bottle 89094-186 and packer 89094-188 are supplied with polyfoam-lined polypropylene cap, and NALGENE® jars are supplied with linerless polypropylene cap. Glass jars are supplied with polypropylene cap with 0.125" fluoropolymer liner.
