These modular cell-production apparatus provide a flexible system for monolayer cell cultures in standard roller bottles. Units accept bottles from 108 to 121mm in diameter and up to 550mm in length. Apparatus consists of a drive unit and a 5-position roller deck. The apparatus can be ordered with up to nine decks or additional decks can be added to expand an existing system to a maximum of nine decks. Each deck holds five bottles. All-position drive models have a position traction drive system in which each roller is individually driven. All-position drive can be field-retrofitted to standard-drive models using the all-position drive conversion kit (14231-478).

The apparatus provide up to 75,000cm² total surface area for cell growth. A locking speed-control knob prevents accidental change in rotation rates. A powerful DC motor with soft-start speed control drives bottles through a series of durable nonslip belts; greaseless bearings prevent leaching and eliminate bearing seizures.
