These reverse flow type viscometers permit measurement of dark liquids whose meniscus cannot be seen at the timing marks when using a Cannon-Fenske routine type viscometer. Also used to study the effect of additives on lubricating and hydraulic oil flow rates at low temperatures. External pressure can be applied to vary shear stress and shear rate. Require minimum sample of approximately 12mL. Specifications conform to ASTM Standard D446. Calibrated by manufacturer and supplied with certificate. Chemically-resistant plastic holder (sold separately) slips over the viscometer and keeps it firmly in place with a spring clip.
