Product Category Description:

  • Double Distilled
  • High-Viscosity
  • For All Mechanical Pump Types

VWR No. 20 is a high-quality mechanical pump fluid distilled from a straight petroleum hydrocarbon mineral oil to yield a pure high-viscosity fluid for all mechanical pump types.

This fluid is recommended for use in reactive or corrosive applications such as ion implantation, plasma etching, and low pressure chemical vapor deposition. It has been distilled to remove the majority of light fractions present in all raw material feedstock. These light fractions represent weak links in any fluid and hasten normal degradation and accumulation of sludge in mechanical vacuum pumps.

Providing the least backstreaming, the pump oil is particularly well suited for use with exotic diffusion pump fluids such as the polyphenyl ethers, silicones, and ester-based fluids.

Increased resistance to corrosive attack, thereby providing less total downtime, highlights the oil’s performance as a premier mechanical pump fluid.
