ECM 830 is designed for use in mammalian cell transfections, intact plant tissue and protoplast transformations, in vivo and in vitro protein/drug/gene delivery, in ovo nuclear transfer and embryo manipulations, and for limited bacterial and yeast transformations.

ECM 630 and 830 generators have a digital user interface, a 4-line LCD display, and a single rotary knob with a push-button toggle to set parameters.
