Cabinets are suitable for work involving CDC biosafety levels 1, 2, and 3. These vertical airflow cabinets feature leak-tight construction and operate at negative pressure in relation to the laboratory. Cabinets feature inward airflow for worker protection, downward HEPA-filtered laminar airflow to protect the sample while preventing cross-contamination, and HEPA-filtered exhaust air for environmental protection.

Supply and exhaust HEPA filters are 99.99% efficient on particles 0.3µm or larger. The front of the cabinet has a hinged and angled safety glass viewscreen with a 20.3cm (8") high access opening. Cabinets feature an audible alarm that sounds in the event of exhaust blockage or motor/blower failure, and silences once the cabinet has reached the proper operating airflow velocity.

The interior of the cabinet is stainless steel and is equipped with two fluorescent lights, a duplex electrical outlet, and one lab service fixture suitable for air, vacuum, or gas. The cabinet exterior is welded steel with a corrosion-resistant polyurethane enamel finish. Cabinets are fitted with a self-contained stainless steel drain pan with a ball-type drain valve for easy cleaning. Cabinets can be used on a table, open bench, or support stand.
